Scanzy
I,m off again.
I have been home for ten days and going crazzy, but there was some things
I had to do (doc and paper s--t)
Just been travelling around the south-west of France with a friend.
It was strange to travel with someone (something I have not done for
8 years). He is a good friend but I think I like to travel alone I did not enjoy
sitting around waiting for someone.
But now me and Scanzy are off up to Belgium again then (hopefully) along
the north of France down the west coast along the south then back "home".
Thats the plan but my plans have a habit of not happening the way I think,
Scanzy is still going well takes a little more work and loving care as he get
older a bit like me so we soot each other. Added a back box, it is-was a tool
box but it work and a lot cheaper than a top box from the scooter shop.
I still can not use my thumb but it my left one so not so important.
Time to go so I will try to up date my blog in Mons (Belgium) in abut a week.

Well the pin and the stitches have been taken out of my hand, still cant use my
thumb but I MUST get away.
I will leave with a friend in about two hours (1 00 pm) where to I dont know yet
but the sun is out and she calls to me to take to the road.
Scanzy seems to be ok after a lot of work and loving care.
Will up date when I have more to say but for now my head is to full of leaving.

Back home again.
Life is never boring if you live it.
Day one of my trip. Got 100km and the trailer came of, but not me.
Luckily it never hit any one or any thing.
Called a friend to come and help me fix it and was back on the road next
day.
¨¨The next day¨¨
We got 250k and 8k from another friends house and the wheel on the trailer
came of this time I was not so lucky the trailer took the back end of Sanczy
and me over, Scanzy was not to bad hurt but me!!!!
I brook my left thumb and took the skin off the back of both hands. The hospital
bandaged my hand and put a metal thing over my thumb, my friend took Scanzy
back to his house were we spent a few days. But I had to get home to sort my
hands out so that meant riding about 280k with a broken thumb and both hands
bandaged it took two days. the secant day was just rain all day (not to nice but
it had to be done).
Went to see my doc the day we got back, he took one look at my hands and said
hospital, so of to the hospital I go they took one look at my hands and clinic,
got to the clinic and after an hour of cutting and cleaning they stitched my
hand back together and with a bandage as big as a bowling ball on my left hand
and a smaller one on my right had (and a metal pin in my thumb) home I go.
Just had my bandages changed today so now I can wright this.
My friend came back with me, (good friend) as he is making my cigs and cooking
and things, it is nice to have good friends. but I am going to go mad just to sit
here for the next three weeks until they take the stitches and pin out.

It is time again to take to the road, the days are longer? the weather is good
and I am happy to be away.
Sorry still no pic of Scanzy and trailer I will try to do this soon.
Had my scan yesterday and the doc said there is nothing they can do but give
me more drugs. So I am even more happy to have a scooter.
For now we are going south-west, where to I do not know and do not care
just to be going is enough for now.
Will try to keep my blog up to date as we go.

This was my first two wheeled trip from
Holland to Greece. I was younger then.
I am stuck again.
I would like to get back on the road, BUT my doc tells me I must go
for a scan as it is now very hard for me to walk more than 200m,
so it looks like I will be here for two weeks more.
The trailer is almost finished (photo to follow)
I am still trying to get Scanzy back to his formal self but money is
short, but he is running very well (much healthier than me)

If you want to go to Belgium on a scooter you should first go to see the doctor for your head!!!!!!!
My trip up was half a day sun and four days wet. Not good but nice to feel alive.
The way back was much better. Three days of sun and we found some good roads on the
way back. The roads in Belgium are so bad I had to check the nuts and screws on Scanzy every other day as bits started to rattle lose.
The first weekend I stayed with friends from Macedonia, when I left he gave me some home made rakky I put it in my backpack and half an hour latter the bottle broke so every thing I had smelt of alcohol. OK I can live with that but try sleeping in a sleeping bag that stinks of rakky and is socking wet.
The next morning when I got up I thought I,d just hang my sleeping bag over a wall by
the canal and lost the last of my money in the canal it had fallen out of my pockets in
the night.
The last weekend I was in Mons I stayed with some other friends I had not seen for some time that was nice and relaxing. Thanks for the very nice tin!!!!!!!!!
As I said the trip back was so nice. The north east of France is mostly flat farm land so
nice roads with the sun, then after a day and a half the land changes to hill and snake
roads up and down in pine forest. It only took three days to get back as the weather was
so good. I would like to have taken longer but money became a problem.
Now I am back at home and trying to make a trailer for Scanzy so we can go all the
sommer on the road (south west I think). I will add photo when we are ready to leave.

Hello
My start was nice, the sun, the road and the freedom.
Day one was good but the night was not, I had to make my shelter three time in the night because of the wind so not a lot
of sleep.
Day 2 It rained and I got so wet, had to do 40k in the rain to find some where to sleep. It was only 7 pm but t wet to do any thing but sit under my plastic and wait for tomorrow hoping
the rain will be gone. And we can find a station for petrol for my
friend.
Day 3 The north-east of France, very flat and mostly farm land
nice road but to much mud so it was a slow day.
I have called my scooter Scanzy he should have a name we have
spent more nights together than I have with any lady, in the last
year.
Found a good place to sleep. Again a bit early but I am wet and cold. It is nice to be on the move but I wish this rain would stop.
Day 4 This was bad, got up about 8 00am but after 20k could not see 150m so had to stop untill midday.
We made Mons by Wensday eve, and it has just been a party since then. I know a lot of people here and it is good to spend some time with them, but after 5 days I want to move so will go to see some of Belgium I have not seen befor and stop of here on my way back to France.
Scanzy is running very good maybe better than me.

Well it is Saturday the 28 of Feb,
Got my friend fit for the road, still needs a few pieces and a little work but for now it has cost 200e and that is all the money I have today.
In two or three hours we will be on are way north for Belgium (happy days).
The weather could not be better to start a trip, sunny and warm.
I just have to finish a little cleaning in my apartment and have a bath then we are gone.
I thing we will be on the road for 5 weeks so it is nice to come back to a clean flat.
I will try to up date my blog along the way (Internet cafe)
Well not a lot to say, just that I am very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the scooter I had before this one.
We made about 7,000 k together then some one stole it.

TODAY
I took my friend to see the scooter doctor, he said it will cost 270e to restore my friend to the handsome young scooter he should be.
This has made my spirits down as I do not have this much money to spend right now. So I must sit here for about three more weeks.
I like my apartment, but when some little s--t 300 k away had 10 mins of some sort of weird pleasure is stopping me from living my life the way I would like I think I have a right to be angry.
But it will only be a matter of time and we WILL be back on the road (yes yes)

Still at home!!!!
On Thursday I must go to the shop to see how much it will cost to
get my friend back on the road. The motor is good but some of the
other things must be done by law (lights and bits). So I hope to be
on my way north to Belgium by the end of the month or the start of
March. (cant wait) It is not easy for me just to sit here in my apartment,
although it is a very nice apartment and good to have a bass I feel like
my life is slipping away and I am just sitting in a waiting room
until it is time to die. I want to be alive not just passing time!!!!!!!!!!:

I am still angry at the man who did this to my friend, but not to much
now, when I look out my window and see the weather.
When I travel I spend a lot of nights sleeping out in the nature (some thing I
love doing) and right now it would be very hard. 10 years ago it would
not have entered my head but at 55 with health problems I must think
about this, but not let it rule my life.

Well I am back at home, have been here for a few days but to sad to write in this blog.
I had a very nice weekend with friends in Bergerac and should be half way to Mons by now. But some S--T head thought it would be fun to try and take my scooter, he got only 250m be for he gave up (good lock). but who ever it was decided to kick the f--k out of it and slice the seat open.
Some people have a very strange sense of enjoyment.
Any way I,m at home because my scooter is to sick to try for Mons and it will take time and money (I do not have) to get us back on the road.But it will happen.
In the mean time I will try to work out how to put some photos of past trips in this blog. I took some pic,s with my phone this time but can not get my bluetooth to understand what I want.
So look in now and again.

Now it is Monday and the trip will start for me.
Had a very good time with friends in Bergerac, drank to much and smoked a lot of hash;;;; But now it is time to head north and roads I have not traveled be for.
The weather is shit wet with no sign of change. But this is all part of it for me.
I am hoping it will take around 8 to 10 days to get up to Mons.
My body is not to good, I came off my bike be for Christmas, and my body is taking a long time to recover.
From now on I must look for some where to sleep each night, this will make my days very short because it get dark by 6.
I will look for a internet cafe along the way.

I got away a little later than I wanted but it was the right day.
It was a good day ot been back on the road, my scooter took some convincing. It did not like going up 1200 m to start but after an hour or so it was running good. Then it became a joy to be on the move again.
Made around 210 k,s about 6 hours. But the road was one I have traveled many times so, not to interesting for me.
From Clermont-Ferrand I went west to Ussel, Tulle, Brive and there turn south down to Souillac. This was my first night.
Souillac is a very nice small market town on the Dordogne for most of the year it is very quite, but for 3 or 4 mouths each summer it become total madness.
The next day about 110 k,s west and I am in Bergerac, I like this road; at this time of the year it is very nice to take time to enjoy the Dordogne.
I will stay the weekend in Bergerac to spend some time with friends.
My first night here and some one takes my scooter. Who ever took it only got 300 m then left it. So I got it back the next morning looking very sick and brocken; but luckaly most of it was just the cosmetic things, so with some tape (a lot of tape)
I put it back together (for now)

Well it is that time, if I stay here one day longer I,m shore I will
go mad.
But things have changed, now I will head for Bergerac in the south-west of France. Then (I think) north-east.
I would like to say more but now it is 3 10 a.m. and I must try to get some sleep. I hope to be on the road by 9 00 a.m. if my
scooter is in a good mood.

long time friend with out who what I am about to do would

Things change

Well it looks like I will be making this trip alone.
I do not mind this as I have been traveling mostly on my own since I left England, and in many way I,d rather have it this way.
In the past I have found you meet more local people when you are traveling alone. Witch is for me one of the joys of the road for me.
Plus it will give me the chance to take time out as and when I like, to enjoy Spain and Portugal on my way down.
Money will be a problem but this has never stopped me be for.
This will become clear as my blog gos along.
I will add more be for I leave(I hope in about 15 days)

from here to there just because

From Clermont-Ferrand to Morocco on a 50cc scooter.
You may think I am mad, but from me traveling is not to
get to somewhere but the trip it self. To jump on a train and arrive in Morocco 18 hours latter for me is not to travel but
just to go from one place to another.
I left England 20 years and 2 months ago to go to Morocco but
some how ended up in Greece,{and 19 other country since then}
I think I have been on the road to Morocco all that time.
Now that is what I call a trip.
The plan is to leave in three weeks and meet up with two friends in Gourdon France and travel together on scooters down though Spain and Portugal then boat over to Morocco.
I have made this blog because it will be a nice way to let my friends and any one interested to follow my progress (and essayer than writing lots of emails)
